Yes. Definitely an acquired taste, that I have not acquired.

Reminds me of how my trash can smells. Not trying to be critical, just honest. I love a stinky blue cheese, and even those washed rind stinkers like limburger, but natto was not for me. I love most things fermented, kimchi, sauerkraut, tempeh, etc. That one I did not take to.

That being said, if you can find it, definitely try it.

I'm a lover of natto Specifically, natto in sushi rolls.
Yes, it's a love it or hate it proposition with natto. I love it but my wife finds it repulsive.
Long live natto.

I eat it regularly for K2. I’ll eat anything if it’s good for me.

I love it. I eat it all the time for breakfast over brown rice, sprinkled with Nori Krinkles. Yum!

I was not aware of dried natto. I heard the sticky stuff is healthy. The megumi natto is covered with a square plastic film that I lick so as not to waste any of the sticky stuff. I fill the empty natto plastic container a few times with warm water, scrape a little bit with spoon, to drink all of the leftover sticky stuff in the plastic container so nothing goes to waste.

Megumi brand natto is made in california and is easy to find in japanese grocery stores. Some whole foods market stores sell megumi brand natto. Asian grocery stores have many brands of frozen natto.

For those unfamiliar with natto, here is a little intro:

https://www.tsunagujapan.com/you-ll-get ... eat-natto/

I never got addicted to it, but used to eat it occasionally.

In the 1970's I lived near a Japanese shop in SF and went on a mission to try every soy and/or fermented food or other traditional (if vegetarian) item they sold. It was fun, and educational.

I learned to like miso, but natto was just okay and not a favorite.

Mixing it with mustard or other condiment definitely helps:).
