First week

Postby MGM » Mon Jul 16, 2007 11:27 am

Hi all,

I had to share my first week's success: down 6 pounds. Woohoo!!! I know that you loose more when you start but it sure is a great start.

The weight loss is great but what is even better is that in that little short week I have felt better than I have in a very long time. I don't feel sleepy after a meal and I have more energy to go through the day... and my grocery bill was way lower than usual (Bonus!).

Have a wonderful week!

Congratulations - would you mind posting a typical day's menu for this first week? that's really extraordinary

Thank you Doris and Jackie.

Jackie, I try to eat a very simple menu because I have a lot of weight to loose. I avoid oils and nuts (for now!).

Breakfast
Oatmeal
WW bagel and a bit of fruit preserve
Tomato sandwich
Sweet potatoe and banana

Lunch
Rice and veggies
Huge salad + some beans
Potato salad
Hummus and WW pita with veggies

Dinner
Rice noodles w/soy sauce and steamed veggies
Veggie wrap: WW tortilla, homemade hummus, loads of veggies
Homemade chili and rice
Home made baked beans

Snacks are always veggies or fruits.

I feel soooo good.

Have an awesome day!
Carpe Diem

MGM, wow! I enjoyed seeing all the variety in your week's menu. As you say, each meal is fairly simple, but the variety is great. I can not imagine anyone being able to say that Dr. McDougall's program is boring. :) I have one question. Did you plan your meals all at once or as you went?

Thanks for sharing your success! :-D

Thanks all for your kind words of encouragement.

Doris, I kinda go with the flow and what I have in the fridge. What I try to do is to always have a batch of rice, pasta and potatoes already cooked so it's easier when I come home from work. Otherwise, who knows what I will get my hands on!!

I am doing ok with the food so far, now I have to get some movement in my day.....
