Non-dairy milks

Hey Jeff, I can’t thank you enough for all the work you, McDougall, and Vegsource do. You all have helped me tremendously with my health concerns and I’m forever grateful. The last hurdle I have involves non-dairy milks and I’m guessing my arteries. I tend to get internally cold when drinking any type of non-dairy milk including soy, almond, and oat. The only way I can reverse it is with a lot of fruits and vegetables. I’m not sure if it’s the additives they have like the calcium or something else? I’ll appreciate any information or different methods to sweeten and enjoy my oatmeal/cereal in the morning.

Thank you, Alex

Hi Alex, maybe you could heat up the non-dairy milks and add spices like cinnamon, ginger, or pumpkin spice mix (which have a warming effect). Do note:

Ceylon cinnamon, also known as true cinnamon or cinnamomum verum, is the safer option; be sure it is specified on the label. That said, this precaution is more relevant to people who are adding a teaspoon (or more) of cinnamon to their daily diet.
