On my most recent blood work, my insulin was 53 (range 5-18). I was diagnosed insulin resistant with PCOS back in the olden days.
I've never been fully diabetic, but pre diabetic. Glucose was 117 and a1c was 5.8. So, the insulin EVENTUALLY seems to be working.
I'm still very overweight. Dr McDougall said on last week's zoom that MWL should help me lose weight, which will drop the insulin. But I failed to ask him if there is anything else I should be doing - weight loss gets rid of the insulin, but the insulin slows down weight loss, round and round we go. I started MWL last week. I know the answer is probably just be patient, but I thought I should ask.
