Dry Skin

Postby Shammi » Thu Nov 30, 2023 1:06 pm

Hi! I hope you all are well. I have been vegan for the last 3 years, but admittedly was not eating the best. I have been following the diet now for 8 days and my skin is getting really dry and my fingers cracked. I haven't had any oil, but do eat walnuts, almonds and avocados daily. Is this a common problem people have on the diet? I did my fitness pal for a couple of days to make sure I was following the allocations in the book (80/10/10) and I was pretty spot on. I drink plenty of water and herbal teas and feel hydrated, so I'm guessing it is my fat levels. I historically have dry skin - do I need to up my fat intake (and to what?) to stay on the diet but not have skin issues? Otherwise, I have more energy and less brain fog so I feel really good on the diet, but my skin is really dry. Thanks!
