cod liver oil, eggs & milk

Postby pauldaug » Sat Apr 05, 2008 3:13 pm

My friend gave me a CD from Dr. Ted Broer. He says it's good to take cod liver oil every day because it slows down the absorption of sugar, eat organic eggs every day for the protein & sulfur (good for hair), and use goats milk, especially goat milk yogurt every day because it is more alkaline than regular yogurt and provides probiotics.

He also says not to eat starchy carbs like potatoes because the body sees them as simple sugars.

What does Dr. McDougall have to say about these issues?

Thanks, Paulette

I'll suggest that you spend half an hour or so browsing through this website - especially in the Medical Info section.

Start with http://drmcdougall.com/medical_nutrition.html. Look through the Hot Topics and Common Health Problems. Read the "handbook" for the free 10 day program - it's very explicit: http://drmcdougall.com/free.html

If you can get your hands on one or more of his books, they are excellent and very readable.

Everything that you've said Dr Broer recommends is about as far away from what Dr McDougall says as you can get.

Once you have done a first foray into the principles on which this program is founded, I'm sure that many people would be happy to answer some questions about things that might not be clear from the reading. :)

Thanks to both of you!

Dr McDougall has created an incredible website with lots of free information and a free program which covers most of the basics.
