Diet change while breastfeeding

Postby malnz » Wed Dec 31, 2014 1:44 pm

Hello, I am currently breastfeeding my 4 month old and would like to return to a plant-based diet. I am concerned about any possible detoxing that might occur if I immediately make the change. Does anyone have any information regarding this? Or is there just nothing to worry about? Thanks!! Michelle

Edited to add: Is there a way I should supplement baby with b12? Or will my prenatal vitamin suffice?

The diet for breastfeeding should be the same as the diet at any other time. Which is of course starch centered, WFPB, no animal products. The only difference is you may need to eat more since milk production will take 500+ calories per day.
