Evenig y'all,

Two questions:
I
The following link on he harmful effects of Coffee is disabled:

https://www.drmcdougall.com/misc/2005nl ... 00fav5.htm

Why is that?
advanced scientific knowledge?
Misinterpretation of scientific research data?

II
What is the stance of the WFPB-movement on honey?
There is only little information about this on here site.

Thank you
Breithorn

As far as the honey, it is an approved sweetener on the McDougall plan.

It is not vegan, though, since it comes from insects.

Coffee is still not a health food even though the link is broken. :-D

Actually, there is a lot of info from Dr. McDougall on this site regarding coffee. You can find it by using the search function on the site or even by going to Google and searching for "Dr. McDougall Coffee". I found the following:

https://www.drmcdougall.com/health/education/videos/mcdougalls-moments/coffee/
https://www.drmcdougall.com/health/education/health-science/hot-topics/nutrition-topics/coffee-tea/
https://www.drmcdougall.com/misc/2004nl/040700pucoffee.htm

And from Jeff Novick in these forums, https://www.drmcdougall.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=59015&p=594236&hilit=coffee#p594236:

Jeff Novick wrote:Coffee is not recommended, it is allowed

And the thread of all threads from Jeff on Coffee:

Enjoy the reading, ditch the coffee :)

Starbucks Won’t Tell You Their Coffee:
- Raises Blood Pressure: constricts arteries
- Raises Cholesterol
- Stains Teeth
- Causes Cavities: Acid demineralizes teeth, especially if you sip all day, making easier for bacteria to decay.
- Keeps You Awake And Causes Poor Sleep

My total cholesterol dropped 10 pts after quitting. Already McDougall before and after. After quitting, I found just one normal cup would keep me awake until 5am. Now, if I take an occassional cup, it must be small, decaf, and before noon.

Coffee is really one of those foods that I wish could be good for me, but it just ain't so. For some people, they seem less affected by it (they are probably fast caffeine metabolizers). The aroma is great, the 'high' as Dr. McDougall calls it is great, and so forth. However, the drawbacks are many for this cowboy and I know I'm not alone in this category.
