subbing applesauce for oil and eggs

Postby KatherineUK » Wed Aug 10, 2022 10:26 am

If a cake recipe has 1/2 cup canola, 1/2 cup olive oil and 2 eggs - any tips for roughly how much applesauce to use?

I would probably use 1-2 Tbs cornstarch (in the dry ingredients) for the eggs and maybe 1/2 cup applesauce total for the oil…but I would Google some vegan oil-free cake recipes and compare to be safe. Also add a little more liquid if the consistency of the batter is too thick especially since it’s not getting any liquid from eggs.
