Sierra, your white bean / barley soup sounds yummy! Do you follow a recipe or is it a little of this and a little of that? I like soups everyday (especially during cooler weather). :)

I'm back after a weekend spent at my parents' house. Was most definitely a non-McDougall weekend. Mom was very apologetic and said, "I know you don't eat meat and dairy, but I just don't know what to fix that your step-dad will eat too." I said, "Mom don't worry about it. I came here knowing that it would be difficult to follow the program." She made chicken-noodles, mashed potatoes without milk and butter, and a bunch of steamed veggies for me. My step-dad didn't even notice the mashed potatoes weren't laden with unnecessary fat and dairy; he didn't notice the very small portion of noodles that I took either.

Back on plan today...

Breakfast: Oatmeal with a banana
Lunch: Baked potato with chili beans
Dinner: Tomato soup and baked potato
Snack: Kashi cereal and veggie sticks
