Losartan and Potatoes

Hi there,

Working to get my Covid-induced HBP under control, but until I can, I'm on Losartan, 50 mg a day. I know that this is a med that can potentially raise your potassium, but has anyone had any experience on this med and using potatoes as your starch? Did it cause hyperkalemia, or am I overthinking it?

hyperkalemia? I think you over thinking.

200 years ago, the min source of calories in Ireland was potatoes. For men the average was 14-17 potatoes a day. If that didn't cause to much potassium, nothing would.

LOL, that was my thought too...but the doc and the pharmacist both stressed watching my potassium intake. This med thing is so new to me that I think they freaked me out.
