This is my concern with the Cologuard test and why I avoid it and take the FIT2 test, which is now considered a primary option. The Cologuard test has way too high a false positive rate and then if you do get a positive reading they will want to do a colonoscopy next. I am not a doctor, and can't make any individual or personal recommendations. However, if it I was in a similar situation, I might choose to acquire 2 FIT tests and do them a few days/weeks apart. If both came back negative, I might choose to hold off making any other decision for a while.
