I am glad to hear from BBC that Robert Young (promoter of alkaline diet) is finally in jail for his many scams including diagnosis via looking at blood under the microscope and scam cancer cures. The vegan movement is unfortunately plagued by many scams.

That's wicked funny, I was going out to get a bag of brown rice this morning and KFC seemed to be promoting some kinda deals on the street.

In reality their customers are getting way more fats than proteins:

Pretty much the same story with beef since 82% of calories are coming from fats:

Even nutritionists and dietitians aren't really all that aware of what they're talking about?

Mainstream nutritionists tend to favor dairy for calcium which is quite unfortunate since animal products have 0 fiber and very little micronutrients when compared to vegetables. Animal products are just junk food when compared to vegetables altho vegetables have no b12.

However, put the same attention to your food intake & you are considered to have an eating disorder. It really says more about our culture, society & our toxic food environment then the individual who wants good dietary health.

I think it might be because a lot of people (maybe even most) eating a SAD have an uneasy, guilty feeling that it's not good for them - and that it's not the optimum choice from a health point of view. They get mad at people who've actually made the change - those people are now 'outside the group herd' and therefore game for attack. It's very sad.

On a related note, I find it absurd when people say 'life's too short' to eat healthily - yes, I agree life's too short - and certainly too short to reduce your lifespan further by eating a bad diet!

My favorite is, "We're all gonna die anyway!"

the same is true for what most people call "carbs" or "sugar" which is invariably mostly fat by calories: cakes, cookies, doughnuts, chocolate bars, or pastas/breads loaded with butter and cheese, etc.

when they say "carbs" what they really mean is fat. "carb" in the vernacular is a vehicle for fat.

Pretty much like "I'm eating healthy because I've been enjoying my green salad very much."

The next thing you know they're very so proud of pouring "heart-healthy" extra virgin olive oil all over that. Maybe three-quarters of the calories could be coming from fats? LOL

To add insult to injury, their olive oil might be fake to boot thanks to the agromafia in Italy:
