3 Years

Postby dlb » Mon Feb 08, 2010 10:27 pm

Well today is my 3rd anniversary McDougalling. And I’m sitting here with crying.

I started on the program on February 7, 2007. I had been dieting on and off for 34 years before I found this website. In those years, I was constantly either going down or going up. Conservatively, I would guess that I lost (and gained and lost again and gained again) cumulatively over 500 pounds during those years.

The past two years I have been maintaining the weight lost in my first year. I am just so amazed that I’m still at my goal weight. I'VE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE!

Better still, I have the confidence that I can do this for the rest of my life.

So for the first time in my life I’m crying happy tears over my weight.

A big, huge, humongous thank you to Dr. McDougall and Mary and to all of my fellow McDougallers for your friendship and support. Being part of this community means so much to me and I love you all.

Donna

Donna, congratulations a thousand-fold. Your "pre-McD" story echoes so many here, it gives us all who are struggling to reach our goals the hope and will to continue. Thank you for sharing it!

Donna,
You are such an inspiration. It's also wonderful to hear that it continues going so well for you. Thank you for letting all of us have more hope if we work at it! I think the after picture of you in the Star McD section is so stunning!

I like you have gained and lost the same weight over and over again. I have never been able to maintain my weight loss. Your story gives me hope that "it can be done" that I can maintain my weight without being hungry. Congratulations on your 3 year Anniversary.

Donna
I remember when your star mcdougaller article came out. I was so happy for you. You were after the same thing I've been working and that is learning to live and maintain health and a healthy weight.

Love you too and thanks for coming in to support us.
