Cholesterol Lowered, Weight Lost

Postby petero » Thu Apr 08, 2010 4:39 pm

Hah! I just got my latest lipid and metabolic panel and it is looking much better!

This comparison is between 08/27/2007 and 04/06/2010. I wasn't on this program the entire time but the earlier date is my last labs and a good reference for where I was before the program. I was a high-fat vegan and had just started to lose some weight.

Weight: 238 => 185 @ 6'1"

Total Cholesterol: 213 => 173
HDL: 45 => 44
LDL (calc): 144 => 97
Triglycerides: 120 => 158

Chol/HDLC Ratio: 4.7 => 3.9

Glucose: 79 => 80

Vitamin B12: ??? => 268.

But keep in mind that this is without perfection and with a significant period off-plan. Currently I've been on-plan (MWL) since the end of the holidays. Before the holidays I was also on-plan since the end of September. Initially I had started McDougall around the middle of 9/2007 and kept losing until 1/2008, then began flip-flopping until I was back at 212 lbs and decided enough was enough.

I'm not expecting a miracle, I'm expecting improvement with "time and adherence". Thanks to Dr. McDougall and Jeff Novick, RD!
