Early in the covid-19 pandemic when the grocery store shelves were stripped of rice I sent my wife to the local Asian market to see if they had rice. She returned with 40 lbs. of medium grain white rice. Long grain brown rice is now reliably available. I have been mixing the white and brown rice together in equal proportions for all of the rice dishes I create. Is there any problem with this approach? I don't want to waste the white rice.

No problem at all. We had white rice with our stir fry tonight. As Dr. McDougall points out, there are entire countries where the main diet staple is white rice.

If there is no brown rice, then go for lentils in place of rice or even Quinoa which provide more nutrition to calorie ratio.
